It was so good until the ending. I guess the writer was stymied by history, he just didn't have time to show the relationship between the cheif bad guy and cop develope except for a three montage of them acting all Breakfast Club with each other. That relationship needed to start at the beginning and be a frame throughout or needed to be edited out. Still, overall it's a good to decent crime drama, as the cat and mouse game plays itself out. It also attempts not to glorify the selling of drugs and becoming a ruthless crimeboss, but its fused with that--that a boy-- in America you're a success regardless of how you got there (just don't get caught) mentality. Strong performces also rate the movie, but it's not on the same level as Departed.
