PD James, the dame of the mystery genre, the chair at Oxford-- that PD James, wrote (it was based on her novel) this Sci-fi flick about the close call humanity might have with destroying itself if suddenly woman stopped having babies for 18 years. The movie leaves some questions hanging, dances around god's wrath and the virgin birth, man's unkindness to man, and how faced with maybe the only chance of survival for the species that we'd rather cash that in and get a few moments of power under our belts instead. The big hanging question is the why, but maybe it doesn't matter--though it sure would have helped. Perhaps the answer is in the book. James' book, not the bible. ... Recommended.
