Making it hard to hand out the Oscars, Clooney again wows audiences in yet another great film for 05'. What would happen if a great Middle Eastern leader rose up with the vision to bring his people and neighbors out of the generational turmoil that has kept their nations somewhere between third and second world status? That is the crux of Syriana. Enter the players, the sheiks, the corporations, the CIA, religious leaders, terrorists, and you can kind of get the gist of what's going to happen next. Clooney is the random element, and his mission will either change the course of middle eastern history or get everyone killed. A gripping thriller of the highest order. Highly recommended, and required viewing.
