Jack's back! And miscast? That’s the first thing that pops to mind when thinking over this review. But was it? Sutherland’s TV role on 24 is pretty much the same role he played here. If anything it was distracting making it hard to judge this flick on its own terms because it just kind of felt like a long TV show. Meanwhile, Mike once again gets to wear a tie, and his character is original enough-- his flawed past is the crux of the movie, setting up the motivation for all players. Overall, the movie lacked any real tension, though, and then crapped out when the villain stepped out on stage. There were so many more interesting paths the movie might have taken, it was disappointing. Not unwatchable, but there’s just no need to see this flick with a 10 or 12 dollar ticket price. I predict it will do well when it hits the video market, which I recommend waiting for-- or until 24 goes into reruns.
